A mock-up of Affleck as the Bat
The news of Ben Affleck's casting has caused major ripples among fans, and by major ripples we mean skyscraper high tidal waves. Batfleck is the new term, but despite almost universal hatred at the the casting choice some celebrities have spoken, most notably director Kevin Smith AKA Fatman AKA Silent Bob.
The NOEL Costume
Smith, whom is also personal friends with Ben Affleck has tried to dissuade fans fears stating in a podcast that Ben Affleck is a huge fan of the Batman comics and would not have accepted the role if he did not feel he could do it justice. Also after the online event to launch Man of Steel on DVD and Blu-Ray Kevin Smith claimed to have seen the suit that Ben Affleck will wear in the movie, which accodring to reports may be similar to the outfit from the NOEL storyline, which is also unlockable in the new Batman: Arkham Origins.
In addition to Batman's addition to the cast of the movie is that of his sidekick Robin, though sources claim that Robin will eb returning to Batman's side after having been estranged from each other for some years. Adam Driver (Girls) is allegedly the favorite for the role of the boy wonder, but Penn Badgley (Gossip Girls) and Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin) are also reported to be in contention for the role.
While there is no confirmation that Lex Luthor will make an apearance in the movie, actors Bryan Canston and Mark Strong have been rumoured for the role, along with actresses Gal Gadot (Fast And Furious), Elodie Yung (GI Joe Retaliation), Olga KuryLenko (Oblivion) and Jaimie Alexander (Thor: The Dark World) being mentioned in relation to the role of Wonder Woman, adding to the rumors that the movie is a stepping stone towards a future Justice League movie.
There is also no confirmation of storyline elements but it has been rumored, due to a tweet from producer Daniel Alter that Batman may be controlling an army of drones, much like in the comic story Kingdom Come. Also another rumor hints that Doomsday may be hinted at in the movie or make a future appearance, according to footage released from the Blu-Ray release of Man of Steel, which shows a scrambled broadcast similar to the "You Are Not Alone" broadcasts used both in and to promote Man of Steel. This broadcast includes Kryptonian symbols and the lines "We remember those who fell during the last war," and "Beware Berton's curse, for he is named Doomsday."

I had to make an account just for this article....
I absolutely hate the term Batfleck and there is no UNIVERSAL hatred for his casting. Hell, most people are already warmed up to the idea by now. MOST were okay with it to begin with. Every top comment I see on Ben Affleck hate things for Batman, are people defending him. Nothing wrong with it.
